The Sampler, Brooklyn 50cl ($4.50): Pours a clear copper with a white head. Aroma is toffee, light citrus, but mostly more malty. Taste is somewhat bitter, but also quite sweet. Some minor hoppy aftertaste. Lots of toffee. Citrus is pretty light. This ain’t too impressive, but pleasant and refreshing.

Bottle from Morrisons [140513]
Amber, clear, thin white head
Aroma of soft floral hops and very light citrus hops
Taste of light citrus zest, hint of grassy hops, light sweet caramel malt, touch aromatic, it’s OK but I’m not sure about the perfumy floral notes
Palate - Medium carb, fairly light body, light bitter palate. Finish - little dry, lingering floral perfumy hops
Overall - A safe supermarket IPA, no big time hops here. Reasonable beer, but not one of my favourites from Williams

Clear amber beer with a decent frothy head. Aroma is citrus with a hint of hop. The taste is mild citrus with a tangy, hoppy edge to it. Not much body to it. It’s quite nice and I imagine it’d be very pleasant to enjoy a few over a summer’s afternoon.

Decent, nevertheless.

500ml bottle from the Crafty Pint, Darlington market. Clear golden amber colour, thin white head and aroma of citrus & malt. Caramel malt with tangy citrus taste, some biscuity notes and a lingering bitterness. Light bodied, well carbonated. OK.

Bottle, from Hogsback store, at JF’s Calcutta Cup mini tasting - 02/02/13. Clear golden with a white head that departs edgeward and leaves a small film in time. Nose is caramel malt, hops, sugars, citrus. Taste follows, orange, hops, caramel, grass. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, some bitterness in a dryish finish. Ok.

From cask at The Hengler’s Circus. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is mild fruity, light hoppy, peachy. Smooth peachy, little downplayed, hoppy. Citrusy and mellow. Mild sweet and smooth fruity finish. Easy to drink.

0.5l bottle. Crystal clear and golden in color, and it has a small quickly sidesticking bubbly off-white head. Lot's of zesty fruits on the aroma. A bit of yeast as well and it also has a light vegetal tone with hints of sweet caramel. OK I guess. Really watery both in taste and texture and it's low to average on the carbonation. Really soapy and almost a bit artificial in taste. Dry with a near astringent finish with some faint fruity and hoppy hints. Not my kind of English style IPA. 05.09.2012
