Wetherspoon Autumn Beer Festival 2018. Cask @ Regal Moon, Rochdale. Dark reddish-brown with a small creamy head. It’s slightly gritty tasting despite roasted malts being relatively light, with an easy enough texture. It’s somewhat porter-like.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Brown with a thick tan head and a moderate frothy fizz. Lightly toasted barley, coffee beans, milk chocolate. Gets a bit syrupy, fake mocha syrup. Ok, had hoped for better though.

16th Oct 2018. 3rd of a pint in my local Wetherspoon (William Withering, Wellington Shropshire). Tanned blanket of foam on a very dark body. Light malty coffee and chocolate esters in the aroma. The malts also rule the taste with again coffee and chocolate to the fore. Smooth, almost 'slick' body feel.

Cask at Maidenhead Inn Spoons, Basingstoke. Roast and liquorice aroma. Dark cola brown. Creamy beige head but not particularly strong. Light bitter. Coffee, liquorice. And gets more creamy. Medium bodied. A thin creamyness. Flat-soft carbonation. Low key long dry finish. Decent offering.
