Growler brought by Lars, thanks! Lightly hazy, huge beaming head. Nose of dried hay and spicy hops. Flavor is super fresh, good body, perfectly balanced, very nice hop aftertaste of smooth bitterness. I could drink it all night! Worth going to Aying for...

Growler from the brewery. Grassy, herbal hop nose stands out the most. Crackery, bready malt beneath. There is light lemon too. Great nose. Hazy gold with a high, rocky head. Flavor is spicy, peppery hops, sweet, creamy malt, some minerals, bread, with a touch of sulfur and salt. Rather light, natural carbonation, oily body, spicy, peppery, slightly tongue-numbing finish. Definitely fresher and hoppier this way. Great.

From a growler. Pale yellow/greenish color, hazy, with a huge white head, lacing. Aroma is very fresh, grassy, some yeast. Taste is grassy, bready, grainy malts. Low natural carbonation, chewy mouthfeel. Nice bitter finish, perfect balance. You would drink more and more. Great.

Sample @ the brewery tour. Aroma is a bit odd with lemon, biscuits and hayish grain. No CO2 on palate. Flavour has milky grain. Finishes with mild grassy hops and some herbal bitterness.

2 litre growler from the brewery shop, bb April 7 2017.
Golden, hazy body, with a big, fluffy, lacing, white head.
Aroma of flowers, hay, grains, bread, some sweet fruits, some biscuit, even slight vanilla.
Very smooth taste, with quite similar aromas, but with more of the smooth bread and biscuity sweetness, a subtle hop bitterness and a slight dryness.
Medium, a bit oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes smooth, bready, floral, hoppy, a bit sweet, a bit dry.

Wow, this is the perfect Zwickl! Never had another style example before, with such a depth and smoothness. The balance is outstanding, sweet, hoppy and bready notes in perfect harmony. And this is so quaffable, it shouldn’t be difficult to empty the growler on my own I guess. Maybe I’m crazy giving such a high score for a pale 5% ABV Lager beer, but I don’t care, this is perfection in its category, can’t imagine a better style example!

Growler from the source, courtesy of SinH4, many thanks! Pours cloudy pale yellow. Aroma is some sulfur, lots of residual yeast, some lager malts. Body is medium, lots of lager malts, soft carbonation. Great drinking experience, tasty and juicy, light bitterness. A great pleasure!

Hazy yellow with medium white head. Aroma is some green stuff, grass, citrus, a little grainy hops. Taste is well rouded fresh citric sourness with some fruity sweetness. Slightly sparkly mouthfeel, but with little bubbles. Still easy to drink. Some uncanny citrus pips in the finish, which I don’t like that much. Still decent.

Growler from the brewery, many thanks jonas! Hazy yellow color with big frothy white head. Aroma is citrusy, a bit apples, bready malts, juicy, sulphuric, some yeasts. Taste is juicy citrusy, grassy, biscuity, some honey, bready, incredibly balanced and lecker. Low natural carbonation, chewy mouthfeel. Similar to the Jahrhundert from the Holzfass - they?re both masterfully crafted. A beautiful and unpretentious beer. Jonas says this was more sulphuric a few hours ago. Tap from the tank at the Zwicklbiertag. More milky, sulphuric, green than the growler version. But excellent!

From tank at the Zwicklbertag. Cloudy yellow, frothy white lace. Light sulphuric grassy hop aroma. Sparkly dry body, great bitterhop profile: grassy flowery, apple orchard notes. Crisp malty with a hint fruit and a tad salt. Very very moreish.
