A mysterious but luxurious mild launched during the full moon of October 16th. Brewed using high quality English grown malts roasted alive, giving hints of rich fruit, treacle and liquorice, complemented with a gentle bitterness from traditional hops also grown within our shores. Fly the flag for Britain with this all English arresting ale.

Cask @ Old Bull's Head Inn, Newcastle-under-Lyme. Black with a creamy off-white head. Dark malty, with this taste being most prominent in its developing aftertaste, mostly just a smooth brew when it initially hits the palate. The dark malts are evident in aroma too.

Cask @ Rose & Crown, Ludlow with Eric, Sylvie and Sophie. Dark brown pour, creamy off-white head. Good chocolatey nose acting as a precursor to a smooth chocolatey undercurrent to taste. Smooth dark malts. Pretty decent.

Deep brown with a ruby tinge, a frothy tan head and an earthy malt aroma with a hint of sweet, dark fruit. Medium bodied and approaching creamy, soft roasted malt and sweet dark fruit fill the palate, with a tiny hint of dry bitterness in the finish

Half-pint, cask 4.666 % abv, shared with Finn at Coopers Tavern. Deep dark brown body, patchy surface, spotty lacing. Slightly roasted earthy malts on the nose, hints of dark fruits. Earth, nuts, and caramel to the flavour character, mid-sweet fruits to it. Slightly roasted end. Okay mild version. (Burton-on-Trent 14.10.2022).

Cask at Rose & Crown, Stafford. Pours a very dark ruby with a small foamy cream head and good lacing. The aroma has malts and just a hint of dark fruits. Roast malts are the mainstay in the mouth, along with cola and caramel. After a while some humbug sweet flavouring comes through plus just a hint that there mightr be some hops involved. Finish is slightly dry. This is really very nice indeed – the only drawback I can find being that it’s a bit thin and watery.

4,666%. Delt med Rune. Ultramørk rubinrød. Skumring med litt farge. Aroma av søt frukt. Sherryaktig. Smaken bær. Søt bitter avslutning.

Cask half-pint at the Crown Inn, Oakengates Shropshire on 13th Nov 2016. Ruby hue to the dark brown body, tanned topping. Malts all the way here, with a bitterness from the roasted malts rather than the hops in my opinion, fruity and slightly sweet initially, slowly getting more dry and bitter as the senses get used to the flavours. Decent.
