750ml bottle share round at Richy’s. Murky, cola colour. Thick, bubbly, cream coloured head. Aroma of cola. Tar. Grassy, leafy hop. Taste is roast bitter, with a hop bitterness coming through after. Finishes long, roasty bitter. Ok.

Corked and caged 750ml bottle (# 0856): 27th June 2015 at the 2nd Annual Midlands tasting. Cheers Rich. This to me was the biggest disappointment of the day: I usually love Purity beers, but this turned me off. Red hue to the dark brown body with large tanned foaming head. Aroma of over roasted malts with an earthy and peaty twist. The taste was like scorched roasted malts, peaty and semi-bitter. Half way through my glass I read the labelling and tried to find some evidence of the Oak Whisky aging, spiciness and fruitiness that was mentioned: couldn’t do so. This was only the second beer of the tasting so my senses were still intact

Bottle during 2nd Annual Midlands tasting group; hazy coca cola brown pour with a big frothy tan head, aroma has dark fruit and some roast and molasses, taste has dark fruit, earthy smoke, stewed plums.
