Cask at the Fox, Connaught hotel, near London City Airport. Pours golden amber colour with a small white head. Aroma of golden syrup, caramel, and light hop. Medium+ sweetness, light bitterness. Medium body, texture is clammy, soft carbonation. Finish is an odd mix of fruit and veg, a touch sour and not all that pleasant. Not one of Brains better ones.

Dull pale gold colour with a thin white head. Light caramel malt nose, similar taste with a mild hop bitterness. Not offensive just average.

Cask @ Last Drop, Halifax. Golden with a thin head. Has a malty bitterness and not much else.

Cask half pint, hand-pulled at a beer festival (The Crown, Oakengates) on 1st May 2014. Pale gold with a white head, I found this boring and almost bland: Mild hop lead with a drier finish, slightly fruity centre. Not Brains’s best by a long way.
