Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at Chums, Bristol 23/9/2017. Amber in colour, with a slight, white, head. Some orange and apricot fruit, citrus hops, some digestive malts and a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Cask at the Bootlegger, 15/09/17. Golden copper with a decent light beige cap. Nose is biscuit, toffee, grains, brown bread, musty notes. Taste comprises mellow fruit rinds, hint of orange peel, fruit slice, twiggy. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with light bitterness. This one kind of grew on me but it was no great and not one I'd revisit.

Hand-pulled half-pint in the lovely ’Grapes’ Oxford on 22 Nov 13. Good amber colour with a slight haze, on top a thin white covering that didn’t want to hang around. Fruity and malty with a hop undertone and woody, nutty hints throughout: the hops give the beer a dry feel, but it’s flavoursome, pleasant and different. My first ever beer from XT, I’ll look out for more.

Had this at Oxford Beer Festival, Oxford, Thursday 17th October 2013 Pours mid brown a little murky. I got a bit of nuttiness and perhaps more particularly a bit of almond/marzipan just in the background. I believe that this is a German style, certainly seems to be heading that way. Fruity malts to the fore type of beer but there are enough hops to intrigue as well, nice stuff. A7 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.5

[Cask from the brewer’s own stand at the Thame Food Festival] Amber-bronze with a thin white head. Beautiful smooth warm malts (as seem usual for this brewer) give you hot buttered toast & marmalade to the fore, followed by a sizeable whack of hops - pine, peach and passion fruit. Very, very drinkable. Great stuff again from XT. Nice one.
