Cask (backlog). Orangeish amber colour, small slightly off-white head. Aroma is zest, citrus, bready malts with some slight sulphury notes. Flavour is very similar. Balanced and quite tasty apart from the sulphury notes.

16th August 2012: hand-pulled pint in my local Wetherspoons into a UK sleeve. Yet another golden brew with a citrusy nose: I’m getting fed up with them now. No better or worse than the rest: middle of the road IPA where the blend of hops from around the world cancelled each other out a bit. The alcohol was just about detectable and helped to at least give the brew some ‘umph’, otherwise it was as forgettable as all the rest in this increasingly annoying style.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Amber with a loose cream head; citrus aroma; sweet, soft and fruity in th emouth with a gentle bitterness; followed by a long, spicy, warming bitterness. Very drinkable.

Cask at Briar Rose, Birmingham
Light amber color with small creamy head. Light aroma of malt. Quite good malt flavor, with a cereals character, and strong bitterness, some hop aromatic presence too.
Very Pleasant.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Pours lightly hazy orange-gold with a small, foamy white head. Nose holds some crisp, lightly toasted dough, orange citrus, zesty rind. Light to medium sweet with plenty of rindy bitterness, toasty sugar, dirty grass and faint toasty bread. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Somewhat resinous to finish, somewhat oily, with lots of grassy bitterness, mild juicy citrus and a bit of toast. In the end the bitterness comes across as just a touch much, but in general this beer is a decent effort.
