Rerate, on tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger, as Mahrs Der Weisse Bock. Dark brown colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of brown bread, caramel, banana and cloves. Malty flavour with the same elements. Minimal hops, as expected. Original rating, 3.3: 500 ml bottle, as Mahrs Bräu Weisser Bock, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 7.2%. Slightly hazy deep brown colour, large off-white to beige head. Aroma of banana, caramel, brown bread, a hint of cloves. Fizzy mouthfeel. Slightly sweet flavour of brown bread with some caramel, hints of banana and cloves. Minimal hops (Hallertauer Hersbrücker). Not bad, but I hoped for something even better.

This review was imported from my RateBeer ratings.
500 ml bottle.
AROMA: Raisins, cola
APPEARANCE: Pours a dark brown that is almost black, with a dark tan head that dissipates quickly. Appearance-wise it reminds me of a glass of cola.
TASTE: Medium sweet with flavors of dark fruit.
PALATE: Full-bodied with a creamy texture and average carbonation. Finish starts of sweet and slowly fades to a mild tang.
OVERALL: A nice dark beer that is somewhat sweet, but needs a bit more carbonation as it seems to go flat fairly quickly.
