Der leicht trübe Gerstensaft nach Pilsener Brauart stammt aus dem bayerischen Teil der seit dem 19. JH hessisch-bayerisch-thüringisch dreigeteilten Rhön von der Familienbrauerei Rother Bräu, er hat also ein "multikulturell" verbindendes Element. Selbstverständlich trägt er das Bio-Siegel.
Süffig, vollmundig, leicht herb und weinig im Geschmack, so schmeckt der Wetzlarer Esel nach Beschreibung von Herman-Erfinder Jens Hoffmann.

From the bottle. Gold with a frothy white head. Aroma is grassy, herbal, lightly peppery. Sweet malty undertones. Taste is mildly bitter with a long, grassy finish. Medium body, balanced carbonation. Decent.

Bottle 330ml. w. swing top. [ As Wetzlarer Esel Herman ].Light unclear medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, grain, hay, wheat - grain. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration, hay - straw, pale malt, grain. [9/24/16] Bottle sample in the queue for Borefts Beer Festival 2016 in Bodegraven. Day two. Thanks everyone for sharing bottles! Pale yellow. Grainy, a bit of noble hops. A bit sweetish, bitterish finish.

Bottle shared before Borefts Day 2. Clear pale golden color, small white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, nicely bitter, hayish. I quite like it.

Verwässert herber Antrunk mit kerniger Getreidigkeit. Angenehm würzig, süffig, zum Ende leicht bitter. Die Aromen an sich sind angenehm, könnten aber alles in Allem stärker sein. Okay. 10/8/9/8/7/8
