Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is massively smoked with peat, oak, brown malt, iodine, alcohol, vanilla, tar, whisky. Flavour is sweet, mild bitter, boozy finish. Medium body. A bit sharp, total barrel takeover, huge blast of peat and smoke.

Brown with thin head and low carbonation. Very malty back notes. There's a slight fruity sharpness too. Smoky, earthy elements too. A bit thin. Lots of complexity and plus points. They don't quite all marry together this time.

Dark brown colour, beige foam. Nose of smoked malt, dried fruit, caramel, plums. Taste is smokey, fruity (dried fruit), raisins with a whisky aftertaste. Very well balanced. Great!

Clear dark brownish red. Smells smoky, boozy, caramel. Bit thin, high carbed. Taste is heavy smoke, bit meaty, and a good shot of caramel. Something vaguely cola-like in it, with the carbonation and the sweetness. Not a good beer, unbalanced and weird.

Smoky nose. Sweet, smoky, metallic. Burnt wood, bacon, soy sauce, bourbon. Finishes dry, aftertaste is campfire. Pretty awful really.

0.33 l can from 'Ace Drinks', best before December 2024. First Bock for me this season. Clear, deep ruby with a thin, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently smoky-medicinal, minimally fruity aroma of molasses, raisins, peat, iodine, whisky and light nuts. Quite sweet, malty, gently smoky-medicinal and a little fruity taste of molasses, peat, iodine, raisins, whisky and some nuts, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, gently smoky-medicinal, a little warming finish. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Lovely Bock, quite different to the 2019 version which was aged on Speyside barrels as well but didn't taste smoky at all.
