Spezial Hell

Its clear gleaming look and firm, fine pored head goes hand in hand with its fresh and pure aroma. Malty nuances are the first impressions.
Spezial Hell is pleasantly tangy with a full, round malt body that cannot fail to fascinate. The soft flavour carries a distinctive balance of sweet accents and bitter hoppiness.
It concludes on equally soft malty nuances – a classical festival beer in the tradition of old Bavarian brewing (13.5% original extract and 5.9% alcohol by volume).

Bottle. A clear golden beer with a small, firm, white head. Quite malty on the nose, almost wort-ish, with a significant fruityness. It’s medium bodied, dry and quite hard carbonated, with flavors of pale malts, ripe apples and pears and a subdued bitterness. Short finish. Well, not bad, but also not a beer I could drink several bottles of if they weren’t ice cold. 110818

Würzig getreidig-malziger Antrunk. Ab dem Mittelteil herber und würziger, ansprechende Intensität, dafür ist das Bier nur wenig süffig. Im Abgang malziger, dazu harmonisch herb und hintergründig hopfig. Leicht nussig.10/12/11/12/12/12

on tap @ Andechser Hof, Tutzing am Starnberger See. Clear pale golden colour, large and creamy white head. Shy but lovely hoppy aroma. Light and crispt malty base with a good amount of grassy-floral hops. Not bitter, but very hoppy in flowery way. Superb.

50l bottle from Bierzwerg. Poured golden color with a frothy white head. Aroma is sweet malty and slightly hoppy and yeasty. Malty and quite hoppy flavor. Finish is bready malty, some bitterness also. Not the best Helles, but certainly drinkable.

Draught, in the CASK Pub & Kitchen, London on 31 July 2010. Gold with white foam head giving partial lacing. Hoppy aroma, rich, thick hoppiness with cheesy notes in the main kick, slightly savoury. Rich hoppy grassy finish on a zingy, engaging mouthfeel. Delicious beer.
