Our 20th Anniversary Ale is pure, with no additives or preservatives. In order to maintain the freshest flavor possible, we do not pasteurize our beer. Many of its subtle flavors are delicate and would not stand up to the heat of pasteurization. We recommend that this product be stored cold to avoid any degradation in flavor.

Malt:
This beer is brewed with Maris Otter, pale two row, Munich and Chocolate malted barley. Maris Otter accounts for 60% of the grist.

Hops:
We bittered the beer with Centennials, finished it in the kettle with Cascades and dry hopped with Simcoe.

Yeast:
We use our house Saint Arnold yeast.

Sample during the Birthday Bottle Share! on 09/21/2018. The beer is a clear reddish-copper color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of malt, dark fruit, yeast and hops. Full-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, fruity yeast, earthy hops and caramel. The finish is slightly boozy with a malty and fruity aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle shared for Koelschtrinker’s 15k! Murky brown color with small tan head. Aroma is bourbony, figs, raisins. Taste is molasses, brown sugar, bittersweet, lots of stuff going on. More complex than my review. Not too sweet, a beautifully balanced Barley Wine!

Tap a tap-house. Brown, low offwhite head. Strong preserved fruit, plums in the aroma, caramel, figs, cocoa nibs. Chewy, cake like, plum pudding aftertaste. Very nicely balanced and drinkable.
