Extra strong dark beer, thick light ruby colour. Taste is light, aromatic, with full and fine sweetness and balanced flavour. Extract - 15%. ABV at some point from 7 to 7.5%.

Bottle, 0.5 l, 7.5% abv, gift from Medvedgrad Brewpub. Thanks! Pours nice orange-yellow color with average, frothy, off-white head. Hints of acid in the smell, like sauerkraut, maybe some corn. Well balanced hoppy bitterness and malty sweetness with some pine in the aroma. Medium body, average carbonation, malty finish. Sincerely recommended.

I’ve tried this in Medvedgrad pivnica iz Zagreb, ofcourse. Soft redddish colour. Pretty strong beer but drinkable beer. light sweetness, light body and strong brown head. Maybe best Medvedgrad beer out there.

Dark amber color. Rich, full bodied, wood, cherries, earthy. Not so sweet. Dry finish. Not overly complex, but not a bad bock.

Clear amber to red beer, very creamy light beige head. Aroma is dairy products, cream, yeast and sweet malts. MF is round with a full body and pleasant texture. Taste is some alcohol sweetness first, followed by caramel and malts. Aftertaste has malts with caramel, little sweet.

27/10 0.5 l draught. Has deep brown body with moderate creamy brownish head. Strong sourish aroma, I already get used to in those two Zagreb brewpubs. some hops definitely here, too. Flavor is quite alcoholic, with lot of caramel, a bit bitter, also sweet. Finish is quite good, where alcohol is also felt through the sweet caramel. Very good beer, surely the best from Medvedgrad.

Sampled draught at new Medvedgrad together with Doggythedog, fifth and truly the best beer from Pivnica Medvedgrad, amber coloured, little creamy head, caramel aroma with pleasant hop character, definitely good Vienna...

The new beer available after the reopening of Pivnica Medvedgrad. Drank this together with ozujsko and we couldn’t really agree on the style. I went with Märzen, but it might be a hoppy Vienna or a weaker Bock (the name (Extra Strong) has nothing to do with alcohol). I’ll be open to suggestions. It poured a deep red colour with a small creamy tanish head. The nose was typical Medvedgrad, only a bit more dusty and with hints of molasses. Nice round caramelly taste supported by a strong and pleasant bitter hopiness, that made the aftertaste too. A very good beer. Let’s hope it keeps that quality.
