Bottle. Pours unclear orange. Aroma is dried apple, fruit cake. Body is heavy and strong, really boozy, but not profiting from flavours. Lowish carbonation, not lacking. Okay, but not a great eisbock.

75cl bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie Sep 17, brought by me. Thanks to Erzengel for the trade. Pours clear gold, thin white head. Aroma is sweet, grainy. Taste continues with a sticky sweet character, lacking the expected depth and not quite the eisbock we were expecting. Overall, a bit too sweet.

4th Sep 2017: Shrewsbury monthly beer share in Chez Sophie. Cheers Mat for this posh packaged beer, a white, corked 0.75 litre bottle. What a pity the ingredients did not match the packaging. Clean golden pour, wispy white head on each of the five glasses. No expert on Eisbock's but this just tasted like a bog standard Pilsner/lager to me. A little more depth to the body, but no sweeter or maltier than some basic Pilsners I have had over the years. Nothing bad about it, just was not what I was expecting.

Sehr süßer Antrunk, mild herb, alkoholische Noten. Geringe Würzigkeit, der Alkohol ist deutlich spürbar. Vergleichsweise süffig, mittellanger Nachhall. 10/7/8/9/11/9

Bottle. Golden color with hardly any head. Aroma is honey, some cardboard. Taste is again honey and some cardboard. Quite drinkable, but doesn’t have the Eisbock feeling.

Bottle from Marktkauf in Porta Westfalica. Grainy nose with sweetish hints. The beer is intense and thick. Lots of sweetish malt, vanilla, smooth sweetish grain. Very sticky with grain and sweetish thick sugar. Not too deep, moderate bitterness, round and smooth.

0,75 l bottle shared with Kristall-König at a big-bottle-session. Dark golden in the glass with an one finger frothy white head. Soft malty nose, smooth. Taste starts with an alcohlic sharpness, boozy. Malt, honey, strong, sharp, hints of sweetness. Bisquit in the background. Hard stuff.
