Bottle picked up from Liebick Getränke which is on St.-Cäcilia-Straße in Germering, Bavaria, we're in our log cabin in Dachau, Bavaria, Germany. We're listening to Steve Lamaq on 6 Music, Wednesday 16th January 2019. Cooking Chilli con Carne for tea tonight. Pours very murky brown, it was a slightly careless pour on my part so a touch disturbed in terms of sediment. Fruity but also a little lightly grilled meat on the nose. Good carbonation, soft in the mouth, the light smoked touches come through in the mouth, slightly tart dates and other sticky dark fruits. This is dated August 2016 and has a BBD of 24/12/17 so it has been aged. I quite like it. A7 A3 T7 P4 Ov14

Brown with no head. Aroma is phenols clove peach raisins. Taste is bittersweet raisins and slight spices. A bit too spicy for drinkability. Still smooth. Slightly alcoholic. Good.

0.33 l bottle from ’Rudat’, best before December 2017. Murky, dark brownish red with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, moderately smoky and quite hoppy-fruity aroma of smoked ham, citrus, blackcurrant and caramel. Sweetish-malty, quite smoky and a bit yeasty-spicy taste of caramel, nuts, smoked ham, citrus, blackcurrant and hints of chocolate, followed by a medium long, slightly roasty-bitter, moderately yeasty-spicy and rather smoky finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy and a little effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. A bit all over the place with fruity hops, smoked malts and typical yeasty-spicy notes but not unbalanced. I really like it, great stuff!

Bottle: Murky brown, cloudy, small and stable off-white head; almost solid nose of ripe berries, caramel with a delicate smoky touch, hops well detectable in the background; robust sweet sourish flavour, supported a decent bitterness, medium to full bodied; lingering sweet, bitter and sourish finish with fruity, wheaty and smoky aromas. Good stuff…
