Thanks to its consistency and versatility, Citra often acts as a solid foundation in our beer, working well alongside other hop varieties. But this is our most intense and full-flavoured presentation of Citra, allowing those delicious flavours of juicy mango and citrus to really shine.

Can at home picked up from CW online. A hazed golden orange coloured pour with a fine white head. Aroma is woody citrus, grass, wet dank, chewy hops, spicy orange. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, chewy, toffee, pine, grass, dank. Palate is medium sweet, waxy, moderate carbonation. Not a huge fan.

NEDIPA, or rather a New England style IIPA, by this New England style champion from ‘old’ England, sampled at Billie’s Craft Beer Fest. Medium thick, egg-white, moussy, membrane-lacing head, cloudy yolk-yellow robe with deeper peachy glow. Aroma of orange juice, Screwdriver, Passoa liqueur, lychee wine, overripe kiwi, gin. Very juicy, lots of mango, lychee and passionfruit, softly carbonated with full and fluffy, soft body; doughy maltiness completely soaked in utterly tropical, sultry mango, passionfruit and lychee flavours, but alas followed by rather sharp alcohol too, as if a shot of gin was poured in here. It is not easy to create a New England style IPA at this strength and keep the alcohol hidden, not even for such an accomplished brewery as Cloudwater, apparently… Truly beguiling from an ‘orthonasal point of view’, though, so have a good score nonetheless.
