Dark, smooth, delicious. Aromas of worn leather and cool autumn nights. Notes of sweet plum and toasted raisin, hints of coffee and cacao. Lingering tart and refreshing finish. Only available for a few short months. Not to be missed!

750ml bottle picked up at the state wine store
Appearance: Clear dark brown with a small beige head and spotty lacing

750mL bottle, pours a dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma of tart fruits, champagne, dark malts and slight citrus. Flavour is quite metallic and rubbery, with some rather offensive burnt tar notes, burnt rubber, and lots of metallic notes. Rather repulsive and barely drinkable. Not good.

Bottle. Pours brown (a touch of grey) with an off white head. Berry seeds and herbs in the aroma. The taste has got some berry seeds sourness, balanced with some cocoa notes that makes it less sour and refreshing compared to the Bam Biere.

Starting to learn the nuances of Jolly Pumpkin beers-- you find interesting things going on beneath the layers and layers of sour funk. Bam Noire keeps up this trend, giving the usual sour-beer flavors of green cherries and lemons, with a funky, earthy backbone. The wheat-tinged notes of the Saison are apparent beneath the sourness, but just barely. Not JP’s best beer, but drinkable nonetheless. (3/19/09)

0.75l bottle #490 shared with ClubGonzo @ Baran, Bergen. Pours a dark brown almost coke-like body with a thin off-white head leaving some lacings. The aroma is at first thin brown sugar combined with a mild sourness - almost sour-sweets-like before you get some hints of champagne soda. Lively carbonated and quite light-bodied. Tastes yeasty and medicine at first, more brown sugar and some fruits. Plums perhaps? Also a weak and watery coffee hint before the whole experience ends in a long lasting spicy and quite dry peppery ending. Really well done to squeeze all those flavors in to a 4.3% abv brew.
