Slightly aged sample Good greige head, irregular, over virtually black beer. Very roasty, roasted grains, nuts, chocolate; bit syrupy, corn syrup, maple syrup. Light, much less syrupy tastewise. More like slightly roasted nuts, very lightly bitterish. Actually, really seriously carbonated, body is light. Light, OK, but there is not really a lot of flavour. Might have been better really fresh? Txs to Stef!

330ml bottle. Quasi black colour with average to huge, frothy, rapidly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, beige head. Sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty and minimally fruity aroma, notes of toffee, chocolate, cocoa, some cherry, plum, almond, a touch of liquorice. Taste is bitter, roasty, almost a bit ashy, dark malty with low residual sweetness, minimally fruity and nutty, notes of dark chocolate, dry cocoa, a touch of cherry and almond, minimally metallic overtones.
Minimally oily, watery texture, smooth, minimally cloying, simultaneously rather dry palate, very fine, very dense, mildly prickly carbonation.
Quite meaty for its low abv, pretty nose, less complex, somehow "thinner" taste - nice.

Bottle from Geers. Hazy dark brown, thin, beige head. Aroma of toasted almond, hazelnut, amaretto, mocha, brown bread. Taste has sweetish fig & prune in a brown-bready, nutty malt body with gentle notes of toast & mocha. Earthy hoppy finish, lingering bitter toasted nuts, coffee, dried fruit, and a hint of 'amaretti' cookie. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. The suggestion of amaretto is certainly there, even though the literal "little bitter" Porter fits this beer better.

Dark brown with a tall, frothy, beige head. Aroma full of roasted oats with a bit of licorice. Taste is roasted bitter, finishing the same with lingering amaretto. Body to the light side of medium, mild carbonation. Overall, good character and even a decent chewiness given the low ABV. Not bad.
