Good head, orangeish cream-coloureed, retreating over veiled bright orange beer. Morpheus a mile out, rootspices and lactic acid, citruspeel, bit mineral, soya. Lactic acid, lemon, very tart. Fruity esters without real fruit. Some wheatbeer hints. Acidthinning and -burn, lipsmacking acidity, even a bit dry-out effect. Good carbonation, refreshing and light. Typical Alvinne... Txs to Stef!

Sour IPA (or 'dry-hopped sour', as Alvinne more accurately prefers to put it), collab with The Garden apparently; steinie bottle from the Delhaize Zwijnaarde. Highly pressurized but no gushing. Thick, 'rough', audibly fizzing, egg-white, uneven-bubbled, lightly lacing head on a misty pale orange blonde beer with peachy tinge, perturbed by a whirlwind of fierce sparkling, sustaining the head. Aroma of moldy lemons, unripe nectarine, sour grapes, milk gone sour, dusty attic, stale orange juice, kefir, urine, withering lemonbalm. Crisp sour onset, bit puckering even, very lemony, with hints of unripe stonefruit wryness as well as subtle but still softening, sweeter accents of pineapple and peach; sharply carbonated, accentuating the acidity. A 'deeper' lactic tartness runs along the sharp lemony acidity through a sourdoughy, bread-crumb-like maltiness, with chalky notes underneath as in a Berliner Weisse; the fruity sourness and astringency remain dominant, aromatized by orangey, grapefruity hops, adding strongly to the overall citric 'colour' of this beer but not adding much bitterness - which is not needed here anyway, this radiant fruity sourness and crispness has enough to tell to keep the beer interesting. Pleasant and easygoing if you can take some acidity, quite refreshing, but as usual with 'sour IPAs', exuding a somewhat stale effect too, as in spoiled sour citrus fruit or withering sour plants; I personally am not bothered by this too much and enjoyed this Super Mario enough to grant it a decent score, even if Alvinne has obviously done many more impressive things with or without the collaboration of other craft breweries.

Golden colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have something of pink grapefruit and mandarin. Backed up by the Alvinne funk. Not overly acidic. Fruity and fresh.

Bottle, 4.5%. almost a foam over, lightly hazy amber, big head, stone fruit sour nose with a hint of balsamico. Very nice smooth sour flavor. Surprised not to see fruit in the ingredients, I'd have guessed peach or apricot. White wine fruity notes for sure. Very nice!
