Caldera made a pink peppercorn, lavender and chocolate imperial stout. The pink peppercorns add a hint of fruitiness, complemented by the lavender and chocolate, to make a very complex, black as night imperial stout.

Caldera Chocolate Lavender Pink Peppercorn Imperial Stout 8.8% Deep coal black with a thick rocky tan foam that leaves copious lacing and lingers. Very full bodied. The aroma is cake like - that lavender, chocolate and pink peppercorn combine to create something shake or pastry like. The taste has perceived sweetness but isn’t sugary, It delivers the same flavors as the aroma. It paired well with ginger snap cookies that brought out some roast dark malt character. Probably the most interesting beer I’ve had from Caldera.

Can, huge thanks either Mowbeer or Tony K for sharing. Brownish body, off white head. Chocolate, lavender and minty notes in the aroma, fairly along the lines of what one might have expected from this. Lean taste, mint chocolate, citric notes, lavender is lighter here, ends a bit dry and bitterish. Very much interesting!

On tap at the 2017 HAF. Pours dark brown color with a small white head. A bgi complex spicy and floral nose. Roast, big floral notes, earthy, lavender is there, chocolates. Quite nice. Solid idea.
