Bottle. Dark brown, creamy foam. Aroma: sweet, caramel, jam, blue plum, a little smoke and chocolate. Sweetish taste, caramel, burnt, black bread, wine, a little dried fruit, not bad.

almost black colour, medium sized creamy brown head; aroma and taste of dark chocolate, soy sauce, syrupy-caramel notes, some coffee, anise, licorice and slight spicy alcohol; quite good traditional imperial stout

Bottle. Black with a cm+ of brown head. Aroma of mocha, heavy roast, banana. Unusual somewhat cake batter-like texture. Bittersweet with lots of chocolate, vague bread/ brioche. Banana and herbs towards a bitter and slightly boozy end. Interesting.

I think I've reviewed one of their beers before. The label is plastered with stuff about world champion beer sommeliers that is sure to elicit the desired slavering pavlovian response from the natives. It's a very sober and sombre bottle. Pours to an extremely dark almost impenetrable black. Dark coffee porous head dissipates to nothing in 30s. Good nose, dark roast espresso, dark caramel, dark chocolate, hint of vanilla. Nice up front in the mouth, like a very sweet Arabic cafe, a bit cloying on the roof of the mouth, long lingering burnt toast and liquorice bitterness. A fraction less of the darkest malts could have helped this one. Still good but just good.
