Beer of infinite density. Massive, rich coffee and chocolate flavour mingle with the vanilla and dried fruit. A beer to be shared and savoured. Can be cellared. Enjoy with (or as) dessert!

2021-10-23, vintage 2021, 11.8% ABV, 8-4-8-4-17=41
Good balance of roast and sweetness, very good, but in today's panorama this beer is not the highlight anymore.
2020-03-30, vintage 2017, 13.2% ABV, 8-4-8-4-16=40
Lean, balanced, with chocolate flavour, touch of liquorice, moderate sweetness, and not really much bourbon.
2019-02-12, vintage 2019, 10.3% ABV, at The Gull, 7-4-7-3-15=36
Dark brown colour, near black. Notes of cardboard in the aroma. The mouthfeel is a bit thinner than I remember from previous vintages. The main character comes from the roasted malt; little sweetness; no barrel notes; it mellows out as it gets warmer, but still can't achieve greatness.
Good beer, but I'm a bit disappointed by the decline.
2017-11-25, vintage 2017, 13.2% ABV, 8-5-8-4-17=42
Initially the liquorice notes are stronger, later the chocolate is more evident, and even a note of espresso. In the final, some bourbon. Pungent, excellent.
2017-03-24, vintage 2017, 13.2% ABV, 8-5-8-4-17=42
Such young sample is characterized by the power of the roasted malts, coffee, lean body, off-dry mouthfeel, and moderate bourbon.
Excellent.
2016-09-11, same vintage (2013), 3+ years old, 8-4-9-4-18+43
The age has mellowed out this brew, has softened the edges, without weakening any trait; sweet dark chocolate with bourbon, leather and tobacco. Warming alcohol.
Wonderful.
2013-11-15, Winter 2012/2013, vintage 2013, one year old, 8-4-8-4-17=41
Pitch black color, small head. Strong aroma of roasted malt, whiskey barrel, raisins, light vanilla, some alcohol, tobacco, leather; complex. Thick and heavy body; round mouthfeel; it has a strong flavor of roasted malt and chocolate; the vanilla and Bourbon is very strong too; it has some liquorice and leather; medium to strong bitterness, with sharp alcohol presence, yet not boozy.
Very interesting.

Vintage 2012
Black colour, red hue, beige head. Aroma of cacao, caramel, roasted malts, vanilla, chocolate, lots of cacao. Sweet flavour, light sour touch, cacao, chocolate milk. Full body, quite warm, alcoholic finish, lingering chocolate. Not really getting the Bourbon notes (personally I just get a hint of vanilla), but a more than nice beer nonetheless!
(From 66cL bottle @ ZZT-ish VIII / BBT I. Thanks for sharing, Countbeer!)

Bottle - Roast dark malts, cherry and anise. Jet black with a persistent brown head. Bitter dark chocolate, rich dark malts and a bit of oak. Surprisingly little bourbon or vanilla sweetness. Nice rich balanced beer.

Pretty well done. My major mistake was drinking this after an expedition stout, but it still holds up pretty well. Initial malt smell a tiny bit off like a few Ontario I-stouts Iβve had recently. The bourbon is pretty evident here, with some booze, dark chocolate and roasted malt. Finishes all bourbon with some boozy sweetness. Pours black with good mocha head and lacing. Texture creamy and slick. Has a little spice in the end as well. 2013 bottle.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of medium bourbon notes with some woody notes and light vanilla with some medium dry roasted malt with light dry notes. Taste is a mix between some bourbon notes with some light vanilla and dry roasted malt with dry black chocolate notes. Body is quite full with a nice creamy texture and good carbonation. Not the most complex beer out there and not enough vanilla and woody notes to satisfy me but still very enjoyable nonetheless.

650 ml bottle.
2017 vintage sampled Feb/17 (13.2%) - Pours black with short tan head. Aromas of dry dark salty chocolate, vanilla, and roasted malts. Flavors of rich dark chocolate, vanilla, light coconut, a little licorice and lots of dry roasted malts. The best yet. Cannot notice the ABV which was always present on previous years. Bourbon is also very slight. 8/4/9/4/17
2019 vintage sampled Feb/19. (10.3%) Pours a very dark brown with short tan head that dissipates quickly. Not much on the nose - some roasted malts and faint licorice. Flavors do not carry much either - faint licorice and dark chocolate and a lot of alcohol. Wow this one has really gone downhill 7/3/7/3/12
2022 vintage sampled Feb/22 (11%) Pours black with short foamy tan head. Aromas of black coffee and roasted malts. Flavors follow same with addition dry bitter chocolate. Cannot get any barrel aging. Maybe the barrels are worn out! 7/4/8/4/14.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours very dark brown with a creamy/bubbly tan head. Aroma is pretty much bourbon. Near full bodied. Flavor starts with chocolate and quickly transitions to bourbon. The funny thing is that the bourbon is not overpowering - itβs just the principal flavor in a very smooth and tasty IS. Thereβs burnt malt, but the bourbon smooths it out. The heat is hard to find. Finishes mildly sweet chocolate with bourbon. Oak? I think so. Thereβs an astringent aspect. Really good stuff here.
