BOURBON BARREL AGED IMPERIAL WINTER ALE WITH CINNAMON AND COCONUT

This year’s release of B-Bomb is aged in 8–12-year-old American Oak bourbon barrels and is a blend of 9, 12, and 24-month old barrel-aged Winter Ale. This special edition adds cinnamon and toasted coconut to complement the oak, cacao, leather, toffee, and dark coffee notes achieved from its extended barrel aging and barrel blending. Each barrel contributes a different note, and combining each barrel to create a coherent tone is a distinct art and true pleasure. Please do enjoy this unique barrel-aged ale today but know that Cinnamon Coconut B-Bomb will age gracefully for years to come. Don’t Be Afraid To Be Abominable.

Down & Dirty: 2-Row Pale, Crystal-120, Munich, Roast Barley, Carafa-2, and Chocolate malts with Columbus, Willamette, and US Goldings hops with cinnamon and coconut.
ABV: 13.0% IBU: 50
Color: Dark black, opaque

Bottle shared at CBJ - big thanks to Dave! Pours black-brown with a creamy, khaki topping. Medium to big sweet flavour with notes of raisins, chocolate, booze, a little burnt marshmallow, faint cinnamon spice. Full bodied, lightly oily, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, a bit of chocolate cake, dried dark fruits, prune, roast. Tasty stuff. Good depth.

Craft Beer Junction bottle share. Thanks to Wingman for the bottle. Opaque dark brown beer, small tan. Soft palate, airy, reasonable fine carbonation. Fluffy dark chocolate malts. Plenty of cinnamon but it never gets bitter or gritty. Light smooth coconut. Some ripe fruits on the smooth semi dry finish. Rich and tidy.

Bottle, thanks for sharing! Pours near black with an earthy brown head that dissipates to the edges quickly. Aroma has a good amount of cinnamon and coconut with a dark grain and roast combination backing. Flavor has a nice cinnamon with growing coconut supported by roast and dark grains.

22 oz. bottle, pours jet black with a medium tan head. Nose brings out a nice mix of cinnamon, coconut and dark fruits, with a touch of bourbon barrels. Flavour is full of cinnamon and raisins upfront, followed by a nice rounded bourbon character, and a hint of coconut. Really wonderful cinnamon and raisin character that melds well with the bourbon. Wonderful stuff.

22 oz. Bottle thanks going to Tom. Aroma shows mostly oak, char, chocolate. And the flavor the cinnamon is mild with the barrel being forward and more dominant. Body and texture are appropriate.
