BOURBON BARREL AGED IMPERIAL WINTER ALE WITH CINNAMON AND COCONUT

This year’s release of B-Bomb is aged in 8–12-year-old American Oak bourbon barrels and is a blend of 9, 12, and 24-month old barrel-aged Winter Ale. This special edition adds cinnamon and toasted coconut to complement the oak, cacao, leather, toffee, and dark coffee notes achieved from its extended barrel aging and barrel blending. Each barrel contributes a different note, and combining each barrel to create a coherent tone is a distinct art and true pleasure. Please do enjoy this unique barrel-aged ale today but know that Cinnamon Coconut B-Bomb will age gracefully for years to come. Don’t Be Afraid To Be Abominable.

Down & Dirty: 2-Row Pale, Crystal-120, Munich, Roast Barley, Carafa-2, and Chocolate malts with Columbus, Willamette, and US Goldings hops with cinnamon and coconut.
ABV: 13.0% IBU: 50
Color: Dark black, opaque
Aroma: Coconut and cinnamon up front, followed with sweet aromatics of molasses, vanilla, chocolate and brown sugar. Whiskey, oak and graham cracker are present in the background

2021 500mL bottle shared by tfontana on 5/28/22, thank you! Mostly clear, dark ruby amber. Dark tan head to ring. Spicy barrel notes and light fruitiness. Light on everything including the cinnamon, thank God. Light alcohol but not sharp. Chocolate and caramel. Pretty tame. Sweet and malty but good texture and tannin with barrel dryness. Still bit of alcohol albeit not sharp. Some cinnamon and spicy bourbon. Pretty intense and spicy. A bit fatiguing but fine.

Bottle (2021) pour from Valley Beverage, Sherman Oaks. It's an opaque black with thin cap of beige head fading to a ring and no lacing. Aroma is strong roasted malt, cinnamon, coconut and bourbon. Taste is moderately strong bourbon, wood, milder cinnamon and coconut. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, frothy texture, no sign of alcohol, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, nice balance but the aroma and taste could have been stronger.

Light cinnamon, coconut, barrel forward. Smooth, tannin, oak, char, needs more coconut and cinnamon. ABV is hidden.

Pours almost black with a beige head that has a small layer of retention. Aroma's: strong cinnamon and coconut from the bottle, boozy, bourbon, roasty, toasted, sweet, toffee. Flavour is above moderate sweet but with roasty bitterness for balance. Warming alcohol. Fairly full bodied. Decent carbonation. Long finish, sweet, boozy, toffee, light roasty bitter.

Jet black with a small brown head. Soft cinnamon with a nice coconut in the back. Nice cinnamon and a long finish. Soft and quite nice with a long syrupy sweetness. Coconut is quite subtle.

22oz (thx, Drew P.!) @ Farees'. Appearance: dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: cinnamon, dark fruits, sweetness. But where is coconut? Taste: along the same lines, cinnamon dominates, but also quite a lot of coconut and chocolate. Thicker than KDS CCV. Overall: good.

Dark. Not much head. Lots of chocolate, cinnamon up front on the nose, and a bit of coconut accent. On the palate, nice thick body, lots of coconut, and cinnamon. Strong dessert vibe. Good coconut cream in the finish. This is nice and rich, love it.
