We honor our Pops with this beer. His vision built the Leisure Time ice brand decades ago and inspired us to build Jack’s Abby as a family business. Leisure Time Lager is brewed with wheat and a blend of spices including lemongrass, coriander, orange peel and chamomile. A subtle spiciness balances the citrusy and floral hops added to the whirl and hopback. Relax and enjoy! Leisure Time Lager uses locally grown wheat from MA.

Poured a slightly hazy yellow with a small foamy head. Aroma was grain, wheat. Light coriander, grain, some wheat, grains. Flavor was crisp, with some grain and wheat. Really interesting stuff.

On tap at Jack's Abby, pours a cloudy yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out soft wheat upfront, with subtle lemongrass, coriander and chamomile. Flavour follows through, with soft wheat and the various aforementioned spices. Decently constructed and very easy-drinking. Solid.

Crisp, very hazy golden yellow coloured body with a thinnish, just a single centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of canned corn, some pale wheat, grass, yeast, hay, citrus, light coriander seed and some noticeable sweetness from cardamom, caster sugar and a dose of fennel seed. Light-bodied; Nice herbal flavours at first with a big coriander seed freshness, tons of pale wheat, a little grassy character, bunches of residual wheat and yeasts and ending with the same spiciness that shows through in the nose - very very nice! Aftertaste shows sweetness, a lot of coriander seed freshness, even more grassy and dry flavours and ending with the fennel seed complexity and airy flavour that makes this a nice option, showing some mild tea at the end and some sweet citrus flavours as well, but only on the very end. Overall, a very nice beer overall and an amazing beer for the style, especially as a Lager! I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Columbus Circle), New York on 11-June-2017 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Washington on 09-September-2017, and I believe this should be categorized as some sort of Lager instead of the 'overall' 'herbs/spice/veg' category which usually talks about an Ale - this is shoulders above that generalisation and should be lumped in with other lagers to make it clear how superior this one is!

Bottle at home. Dullish gold colored. Nose is light citrus and bready. Tastes of bread, orange, slight herbal tones, minerals , banana peel. Semi sweet. Palate is weaker end of spectrum.

Bottle. Slightly cloudy pale yellow with very small frothy whitish head, faint citrus aroma, high carbonation, sweetish bread taste, thin body, abrupt finish. Smooth and tasty.

Well cut my knees off and call me shorty. What an interesting idea, a lagered witbier. Pour is hazy yellow in my willibecker glass. Aroma is lightly sweet, thicker blanket of wheat malt and maybe, what I guess, is chamomile. A general mix of stuff but definitely lager-y, cleaner aroma. Flavor is a clean coriander wheat flavor. Basically, a lagered wit, as designed. Cool idea. If I find this for a decent price I will buy again (PA prices are wack).

Bottle. It pours a clear pale yellow color with a disappearing white head. Fizzy. The aroma is bready with some cinnamon, coriander and hints of lemon. The flavor is stronger with chamomile, coriander and background notes of cinnamon and lemon. Maybe some light touches of honey. Pale maltiness. Light and pretty dry on the palate, but the spices are a bit much for me. Decent mouthfeel though. Just OK overall.

Treated as a pale lager as that’s what it looks, smells and tastes like, this was poured into a pilsner glass.
The appearance was a semi-hazy well built burnt yellow color with a slight transparency about it. Carbonation could be seen rising to fill a one finger white foamy head that dissipated nicely. Somewhat messy spider web lacing.
The smell started off with the sweet orange peel and then lightens up into a subtle bitterness. Subtle floral chamomile components - somewhat crisp and eventful round it out.
The taste was mainly the same - sweet first, subtle bitterness - floral and then grassy. Light wheat bite trying to make a presence in the aftertaste but doesn’t amount to much. Quick dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body. Seems like the wheat gives it a bit more - no worries, I like that. Subtle crisp sweet to bitter feels bumping over my tongue.
Overall, hot damn, this stuff is really good. I want more cans to pound all Summer. Pass the brats and a baseball game!
