It's a Koelship Kölsch! Or, as Gareth from Deya rather brilliantly named it, a Köelsch.

We had a great brewday making what is a truly collaborative beer, with its feet in traditional Kölsch brewing culture and its heart reaching for refreshing hops! Hopped in the koelship with UK (Bramling Cross) and USA (Belma) hops, this is a summer time beer for summer time fun.

Can from new cavern. And say 13 of my advent calendar. Aroma and taste are malty and citrus. Crisp. And smooth.

Can at home picked up from HOTM. An attractive clear golden coloured pour with a lasting pure white fluffy head. Aroma is earthy cereal grains, hay, some hockey puck plastic, grassy hop. Flavour is composed of semi crisp earthy cereal bready grains, some minerality, grassy hop. Palate is super crisp, highish fine carbonation. Nice. Lingering bready grains.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from All Good Beer. Pours lightly hazed gold with a modest, foamy white head. Light sweet flavour, pleasant bready malts, biscuits, lemon rind, cereal, pale grains. Light bodied with average carbonation. Quite clean to finish, further mellow cereal, biscuits, pale bread, low bitterness, just a little straw. Hugely drinkable.

Can, from SMOD. Light haze on a very pale, green tinged gold. Decent white head fizzes and pops, but stays the course. Nose has clean malts. Grass clippings. Privet leaf. Sour yeast. Taste is pretty dry and light, grassy, stalky bitter. Light and dry on the palate, with brisk carbonation. Twangy bitterness to finish. Easy drinking logger.
