Bottle. Thanks Tim. Interesting. Very soft, low carb. Aroma is boozy, sweet fruitiness, marzipan. Taste is interesting, apricot, lots of fruit, bit sweet, feels a little like a barley wine. Nice.

Aus der Flasche 2015-12 getrunken. Dieses östereichische Blonde hat eine tolle Hefe-Nase. Doch am Gamuen fällt es stark ab und wirkt fast schon komplett körperlos. Schade!

330ml bottle [label says 8.7% abv]. Cloudy, amber colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Tannic, woody aroma, notes of green wood. Taste is minimally sweet, nutty and caramel malty, piney and woody and minimally tannic, hints of green wood, could as well be birch sap, a fruity touch of cherry; prickling, refreshing carbonation.

Old bottle from my cellar. The beer starts nice round and malty. The woody parts are there, but way hidden behind a nice dry malty body. Easy to drink, nice roasty parts, refreshing with a nice woody back.

0.33 l bottle from ’biertraum.de’, best before December 2018. Clear, reddish amber with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly herbal aroma of lots of toffee and vanilla, honey, sage, orange jam and apparently pine. Sweetish-malty, quite herbal taste of toffee, vanilla, orange jam, sage, pine and honey, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, herbal and a bit warming-alcoholic finish. Medium body, slightly oily and a bit effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very interesting, definitely worth a try, although I wouldn’t want to drink this on a regular basis.

Hazy to cloudy medium amber colour, a lot of tiny bubbles, good foamy off-white head, half-way lasting. Aroma is fruity, apricot, lemon, pine, resinous. Taste is light heavy sweet, slightly apple sourish, short duration, retronasal fruits and pine. Light body, oily to sticky texture, lively carbonation, sweetness joined by a light bitter astringency in the finish, spicy and woody notes, also short duration. Taste and aftertaste sensations quite ephemeral which is a pity, having said this it’s still an interesting beer.

330ml bottle at Vienna Food Festival shared with gf. BB 12/18. smells resin, pines, sweetness, flowery, honey, light sweetness. Full body, light carbonation, full mouthfeel. Tastes oranges, marzipan, pines, light notes of green apples, sweetness, tobacco. Finishes with oranges and tobacco. Okish, has quite little taste for the ABV, also has some old hop notes. Not a fan. 6, 4, 6, 3, 12

Nice dark golden color with white head. Sweet boozy, muddy cellar aroma. Taste is sweet boozy, fruity, resinous, caramel. A bit yeasty. Thick mouthfeel. Not bad, quite intense.

Pours nice clear amber, not much head. Aroma has caramel, feels quite funky. Tree-resins are probably the reason for this. Taste has caramel, some creamy resins, not much hops. Scottish yeast character mingling with forest characters. Pretty nice one again from Kiesby’s.
