Classic Gold Rush blend with the barrel playing a strong role while the spicey, ripe apple notes and bracing Foxwhelp acidity give this cider a full rounded mouthfeel and make it a great drink. The #9 blend, again benefits from Ryan Burk's #ciderfood focus.

Bottle at the Full Monty. Deep amber-red. A surprising color. Still. Rich apples in the nose, skins, oak. Tannic oak flavor goes well with the sharp tannins of the apples. A touch of iodine-peated whisky casks? Slightly smoky. Tart, lovely flavors and body.

Bottle picked up at SMOD. This is one of their current non beery offerings. Clear tea colour. No head. Nose has lots of oak. Apple stalk. Lightly rotted wood. Baked dessert apple. Whiff of burnt sugar. I’m is dry and very lightly tart, with a toffee apple sweetness on the swallow. Clean and complex. Big oak character. Lovely.

Bottle at home from HOTM. A clear deeporange amber coloured pour with a fading loose off white head. Aroma is oak tannin, bark, some unrefined sugars, rustic notes, bruised apple, light tang. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, tart apple, bark, little varnish, whisky notes, spicy wood notes, oak. Palate is semi sweet, light tang, woody apple notes, moderate carbonation. Good complexity and drinkability.
