Der Anstoß zu diesem Bier liegt nun ca. 15 Jahre zurück, als ich noch in Suzhou/China arbeiten durfte. Ich habe dort ein Weizenbier gebraut, das mein damaliger Bandkollege James „the Banana Buzz“ nannte. Das Besondere daran war, dass es aufgrund des Rezeptes und der verwendeten Hefe so dermaßen intensiv nach Banane gerochen und geschmeckt hat. Das hat mich unweigerlich an meine Jugend erinnert, da habe ich nämlich gerne einmal ein Biermischgetränk aus Weizenbier und Bananensaft getrunken. Nun bin ich auch schon etwas älter und ein Weizenbier gibt es bei mir eh schon standardmäßig. Was liegt da eigentlich näher, als das Bier auch etwas erwachsen werden zu lassen, und das Ganze als einen sauberen Weizenbock zu reinkarnieren? Also ich bin bereit und freue mich auf diese Zeitreise!

[ As Pax Bräu Weizenbock ].
ABV: 7.5%. Clear medium orange yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, wheat, pale malt, light sweet malt - caramel, moderate yeasty, weizen yeast, fruity yeast, light banana and clove. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, fruity yeast, weizen yeast, wheat, sweet malt - caramel, light banana - clove. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. Bottle at pre borefts tasting. Pours golden orange, nose is bananas and cream, caramel, taste is similar, sweet. 3.4

Bottle at the pre-Borefts tasting 2019, Zaandam. Poured a hazy golden orange colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, gluey, herbal. The flavour is moderate bitter sweet, with a crisp, light fruity, herbal, hop palate.

Bottle shared at Pre-Borefts ‘19. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma of Malt, grain and light fruits with green weedy notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Shared at Pre-Borefts Tasting 2019. A clear amber beer with a white head. Aroma of clove, strong moderate sweet malt. Taste of moderate sweet banana, clove and phenols.

1 liter bottle at Munich tasting. Glowing orange color, oily looking. Oily, sugary, oranges. Dusty flavor with hay, and rather sour. Slick, oily and out of shape.

Hazy amber. Aroma is green khaki, green banana, mushrooms, carmael juice. Taste is harsh sour with very sweet minerally body. Not so drinkable.

Bottle courtesy of the RB group München, Wednesday 12th June 2019. Pours warm gold with no discernible head. A little wine'y' on the nose, with a light apple touch, a touch of banana, mmhh...ok

Bottle. Hazy golden, lowish head. Gunpowder spice nose, medium body, chewy, light DMS, a bit bubblegum, dry, a bit off unfortunately.
