Sweetish but with a gentle funk.

330ml bottle from Le Social. Orange golden colour, short-lived white foam head and aroma of fruity apple, mucky funk. Taste is sweetish, apple, fruity, some caramel & funk hints, with bittersweet tannin. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.

33cl bottle from Appalachian Vinter. One month fridge sleep. Stemless wine glass @ home. Attractive amber, slightly greasy color. Voluminous head. Congested head of sulfur/eggs. Once cleared it's more like veggies, mulch, pickled charcuterie, macerated & lightly rotten apples. Taste is sweet like dark rock candy upfront, rounding into some light tartness & earth, then turning abruptly minerally & dry. Could be brighter, could have a better nose, but this tastes pretty French to me. Good.

Sweet, bitter and tart apples, blossomy, citrusy, tannins, chalky, raspy dry mineral feel to it. Juicy, watery, with a dry finish. Notably less body than the ‘premium’, but an interesting chalky/minerallike touch in return. #vloeibaarhoutinjectie

Sampled at Borefts Pre-Tasting 2019. Clear pale golden, no head. Sweet apple, also in the flavor and quite full flavored. Nice. Like the flavor way more than the aroma. 6-3-7-4-15

750mL bottle at Holm, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out fairly restrained barnyard funk, earthy notes, and gentle acidity. Flavour is complex, with barnyard funk, earthy notes, old oxidized notes, and old leather. Never had a French cider like this. Interesting - leathery and barnyardy, and also oxidized.
