17/VIII/21 - on tap @ Het Lagerguys (Amsterdam), BB: n/a (2021-845) Thanks to the misses for going on a beer tour with me!

Clear dark browh to black beer, small creamy dense beige head, stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lovely, good old school RIS aroma, lots of dark caramel, chocolate, some charcoal, coffee, yeast notes. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: very malty, lots of alcohol, soft roast, bitter, sweet touch, caramel, ripe banana. Aftertaste: lots of chocolate, bitter touch, rather sugary and sweet touch, gentle bitterness, more coffee, soft acidity, some banana, lots of alcohol, malty finish with a dry touch. Decent beer!

Pours black into an English pint. Mocha head quickly dissipates to nothing - bad sign. Sourdough, dark pit fruit and pumpernickel aromas. Thick with dark caramel, sour pit fruit and hot licorice upfront turning to thick coconut and vanilla in the lasting finish. Same batch as previous reviews with 2 more months on it... hard to believe it didn't improve with age, but it's a meh for me...

Can (2/1/21) pour from trade with AirForceHops--thanks, Chris! It's an opaque black (bit of dark brown at the bottom of the glass) with light sparkle at the edges of the glass, nice viscosity, finger-width crackling fizzy light brown head with fair retention and no lacing. Aroma is mix of strong toasted coconut along with roasted and earthy malts with light chocolate and a hint of dark fruit. Taste is sweet caramel with hint of alcohol (fades as it warms), nice toasted coconut and late chocolate. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with thick, frothy texture, soft carbonation and sweet finish as taste. Overall, not insanely sweet nor super strong but nicely balanced and avoids going over the top. A nice dessert stout for sure!

16 oz. can. Born on: 02/01/21. Aroma is bold caramel, chocolate, and toasted coconut. The 3 adjuncts are Totally well integrated. It really does taste like a piece of German chocolate cake. Alcohol is totally hidden in the mouth feel is appropriate for style. This stout is awesome!!
