West Coast Pale Ale.
Whilst we’re very much a brewery that produces modern, hop-forward beer, sometimes you have to look back to the old school and honour the breweries without whom we wouldn’t be here today. Little Petal takes a detour from our usual output down the Pacific highway for a deliciously moreish West Coast Pale – clean and crisp resinous bitterness takes the lead here, with a classic hop lineup of Cascade and Simcoe.

Slightly hazy golden pour with a decent white head. Aromas of citrus/grapefruit, pines, herbs, malt. Taste is quite similar, some more tropical fruits as well - decent bitter finish.

1/3 pint, draught at Mother Kelly's N17. Filmy layer, clear late straw coloured body, fair lacing. Inviting smell of floral hops and ripe fruits. Taste of herbal hops with a citric touch. Bone dry ending with piney moments. Decent. (Tottenham Hale,, London 15.03.2024).

440ml can bought as part of a delivery from the brewery. Fairly light gold and clear with a thin ring of white head. Piney character with notes of apricot and white grapefruit in the aroma. Taste is fairly bitter, some berry, a little bit of grapefruit. Very bitter finish wish tongue-coating resinous hop oil. May not be to everyone's taste but I loved it.

Stråfarget. Nesten klar. Filmskum. God ferskenaroma. Smaken tørket frukt. Tørr, lett bitter avslutning.

440ml can from Stan's Superstore, St Martins. Misty golden yellow pour with a large white head. Good gentle haze, super soft and light, feels more 3.8% than 5.4%.. nicely easy drinking stuff, though confusingly very far from a West Coast profile.

Keg at the Maypole, Cambridge, 19/07/22. Hazed orange with an off white cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is juicy citric flesh, melon, light pine, papaya. Tatse comprises orange pith, light pine needle, grass, melon, floral notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close splashed with juicy hop bitterness. Tidy enough pale.
