West Coast Pale Ale.
Whilst we’re very much a brewery that produces modern, hop-forward beer, sometimes you have to look back to the old school and honour the breweries without whom we wouldn’t be here today. Little Petal takes a detour from our usual output down the Pacific highway for a deliciously moreish West Coast Pale – clean and crisp resinous bitterness takes the lead here, with a classic hop lineup of Cascade and Simcoe.

3/1/2026. Can at Polly’s Kesgrave beer share, courtesy of ITFCfan. 5.2% abv. Very slightly hazy golden pour. Aroma is tropical, piney, grapefruit, herbal, husky, slightly soapy. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness, quite drying. Moderate body, average carbonation. Good bitter finish. Decent.

Pint at Cherry Reds, Birmingham. Hazy yellow-gold with white head. Quite a bitter West Coast with slight burnt wood, herbs, pine, some citrus. Medium bodied, drying. Not quite balanced in flavour.

440ml can, 2025 rebrew which looks like it might also have Amarillo in unless this just wasn't mentioned originally.
Clear golden, white head. Aroma of grapefruit, orange, resin. Taste is quite resinous, orange peel, grapefruit, an assertive piney bitterness which lingers. Medium bodied.
Pretty decent WC Pale, mine certainly wasn't hazy like others seem to have been.

Keg at Craft Beer Co, Covent Garden, Friday 6th June 2025 after a Eurostar from Brussels this morning. Pours clear gold with a slim white head, not instally grabbing me, it's a grower, but there are clear West Coast vibes here, nicely bitter, a little resinous, dry finish. Good.

440ml can from Left Field Beer. Poured a slightly hazy yellow golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy, light herbal citrus. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a fresh, crisp, herbal, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. I didn’t dislike this but it was nothing special. Not one of the the better beers from Polly’s.
