(375ml 2017 bottle shared @ Nische's tasting, thanks Otso!) Pours clear deep mahogany with almost no head. Notes dominated by heavy pear liquor as much as apple, over dark caramel, apple skin, light wood, boozy brandy, a touch of nutty oxidation. Sweet and sugary through the sip, with a little alcoholic drydown. Medium-full body, very low carbonation. Not the equal of the others in the series for me, the base feels thinner, sweeter and boozier and the fruity barrel notes rather simple in comparison. Still a good beer, but not a great one like other variants when compared.

0,375l bottle at Nisches tasting, thanks for sharing. black color, small tan head. smells of schnaps, brandy, boozy, marzipan, pear, some wood, nice smell. full body, no carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of oxidation, molasses, schnaps, brandy, boozy, pears, light apples. finishes light to medium sweet with notes of schnaps, molasses and earthy notes. nice one, a bit on the boozy side, not as good as some of the others in the series. 7, 4, 8, 3, 15
