Bottle. Black body under a small beige head. Aroma has dark, light roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, plenty of cinnamon and warming alcohol. Taste is sweet, dark malt, brown sugar, dry fruit, warming alcohol, spices and lots of cinnamon as well. The cinnamon level is basically way out of balance, but somehow it seems to work out fine after a few more sips. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste of sweet malt, cinnamon and alcohol.

From tap at Van Ouds, black beer, almost no head. Aroma is kapitein koek, sweet, raisins, malt, chocolate. Taste is bitter, cocoa, raisins, sweet, spices, cinnamon, vanilla. Very nice

Opaque colour, brown head. Aroma has tonka beans and gingerbread with toasted malts. Full-bodied. Gingerbread rides over the toasted base, it is cinnamon and tonka beans. Alcohol is evident. Hints of licorice lurking. A bit too Christmasy ...

33cl Fles van De Laat. Zwarte kleur, bruine kraag. Veel tonka in de geur, vanille, zoet, roggebrood, chocolade, cacao, wat kaneel, meer tonka, licht bitter, iets gebrand. Volle body. Lekker, maar wat minder complex dan bv een Willy Tonka van de Moersleutel.

Bottle. Malty aroma and taste, chocolate, tonka beans, vanilla, light to medium sweet, medium bitter. Full body, malty chocolate bitter sweet finish with tonka and vanilla and light warming alcohol notes. Good.

From a 330ml bottle on 8/11/2021. Pours close to black with barely any head. Smells malty with dark chocolate, caramel and a touch of vanilla. Tastes a tick over medium sweet up front, but a touch short of dessertish, with ore dark chocolate, caramel and vanilla, with a good dash of brown sugar, some toffee and marzipan, aaawhich is met by a fairly firm, slightly roasty bitterness. Warming at the end, it feels every bit of the 12.5%. The palate is thick and viscous, the carbonation softish. An excellent and complex big sipper.

Bottled 330ml. -from Ambasada Zagreb. Pitch black coloured, medium sized brown head, chocolate and cinnamon in the nose. Roasted malt, light burnt touch, cinnamon and noticable alcohol with light vanilla and tonka in the finish.

bottle. pitch black,dark brown head. One of the darkest imp stouts i ever poured. Aroma is very sweet, but does have notes of roasted malts as well as a lot of cake frosting like notes. aroma is like sweet brown dessert cake, and pastry in general. I must say i'm not a fan of this kind of aroma. flavor is roasted malts, chocolate, cake frosting (but not at all as intense as in the aroma) end is more roasted malts, overall the flavor is pretty awesome, i must admit, even if it's not my style. well blended and quite complex. The alc. is extraordinarily well hidden.
