33 cl. van @ home, bought @ Kulenburgse Bierhandel. Pitch black with a beige head. Roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate with some citrus from the hops. Sweet taste with a bitter pure chocolate finish. Some solid roast in there as well and a warming alcohol presence, without being boozy. Great stuff.

Malziger, moderat röstiger und wenig süßer Beginn. Die Süße steigt etwas an, trocken, geringe Bitterkeit. Schokoladenkuchen, Kakao, vollmundig, sehr harmonisch. Langer malziger Abgang und Nachgeschmack, etwas trocken. Gut! 10/12/13/13/11/13

Very dark brown with thin head. Aroma and flavour have intense roasted bitter notes. Quite silky and rich. Wrll balanced and dangerously easy to drink.

Avec des arômes fruités très présents venant des houblons utilisés et venant en compétition avec les arômes torréfiés, cet imperial stout fêtant les 6 années de la brasserie Frontaal m'a quelque peu déconcerté. Cela n'empêche en rien cependant à cet Impie à être très appréciable sur des arômes francs bien mis en valeur par une texture dense et un bon équilibre avec notamment un alcool très bien intégré et un sucre justement dosé. En verre nous sommes sur un noir total avec une faible effervescence et une mousse brune s'estompant très rapidement. Le nez s'il présente des arômes de café et chocolat bien présents surprend surtout par son côté fruité très présent avec agrumes et fruits exotiques. L'ensemble fonctionne bien cependant. En bouche, de légères épices apparaissent avec de légers arômes de brulé. Une légère astringence est également présente. L'alcool, à 12 %soutient bien la structure, sans être agressif. Il est même très discret et laisse totalement place aux arômes. Corpulence et longueurs sont honnêtes sans être dithyrambique. Un imperial stout sur le fruit !

Can at home, 22nd January 2022. Pours black and not much carbonation. Aroma is caramel, dark chocolate, cocoa. Taste is bitter chocolate, roasted malts, ash and tobacco, bitter hops, sweet and bittersweet. Excellent and hugely enjoyable RIS.

Can at home. Opaque pitch black color, average sized beige to light brown colored head. Aroma is malts, soft roast, brown malts. Flavor is similar. Malts, dark malts, brown malts, bitterness, malt bitters. Decent to medium body and carbonation. Very solid base stout. Would love to see this on bourbon or with coffee / espresso added. Very nice base stout, great potential for barrel aging for sure.

Can from De Bierenwinkel Ede. Straight from can during a hike. #3000. Color: Black, I presume. Light brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, toffee, coffee. Taste: Smooth, bit sticky. Full body. Roasted malt, coffee, toffee. Boozy hints, dark chocolate, cocoa, some vanilla. Sweetish but just not too sweet for me. Light bitterness, going to over moderate at finish. Below average carb. Nice one.
