Maple Porter. Acadian Groove emerges from the changing tempo of Spring in rural Ontario. The sweet, sappy change from bitter Winter brings such incredible joy to the thawing Ontarians, it demands a beer in celebration. Brewed with Ontario maple syrup from friends at Breedon’s Maple Farm in Alliston, Acadian Groove honours two solid Canadian icons: Maple Syrup and Craft Beer

Dark brown, medium beige head. Aroma is huge maple cookies, brunt brown sugar with some cocoa nibs. Smooth mouth feel, soft carb. The finish reminds me of a maple flavoured coffee. Kudos on making one of the best maple beers I’ve had, but holy hell is this sweet. Finishing a 750 is daunting.

750ml @ Phill's (thx for the beer!) during Gene's visit. Appearance: dark copper, with a beige head. Aroma: maple syrup bomb with some dark fruits, and some sweetness. Taste: along the same lines. Overall: still not sure why breweries call these maple syrup bottles a beer.

[2015 vintage] Pours dark brown with thin beige head. Aroma has a lot of maple sugar and some malts. Flavour has maple sugar, chocolate, vanilla. Maple has been really well-incorporated; excellent

Medium brown. This has a big maple and some chocolate as well. Not subtle. On the palate, the body is light, maybe in part because of the age. The taste is pretty heavily on the maple, with again a light chocolate note. Sweet, and without a lot of nuance.

Poured from 750mL bottle (approx 10 years old). Dark brown with small beige head. Nice maple character, mild chocolate and roast. Has held up quite nicely.

Bottle shared with friends. From the description: more than Canadian kitsch. I´m not so sure because it´s sweet beyond maple suryp sweetness. But together with tart yellow raisins, vanilla, chocolate, warming booze and coffee pralins it works reasonably well with a creamy and rich vanilla ice cream. On it´s on. Not so sure

(Bottle) Dark brown colour with dense, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with dark chocolate, coffee, maple syrup, toasted coconut, black rye bread, prunes, raisins and a touch of cinnamon. Malty, roasted, sweet taste with notes of maple syrup, dark chocolate, orange peel, toffee, black rye bread, coconut, cardamom, prunes, treacle and a sweet finish with a mild roasty bitterness. Full body, very sweet. Smells very promising, there are lots of interesting flavours, but in the end to sweet to be brilliant. Still, a nice one.

Bottled. Clear mahogany colour, small head. Rich aroma of toasty maple syrup. Extremely sweet with medium-full body and syrupy, sticky mouthfeel. Maple syrup, with extra sugar. Tongue numbing sweetness. How is it even possible to sweeten maple syrup?
