This version has undergone a hundred minute boil, with Simcoe, Amarillo and Citra added every single minute - plus a dose in the whirlpool and a final dry hopping to extract the most from these wonderful hops. Expect vibrant notes of ripe citrus alongside a dank, resinous character, all followed up by a clean, intense bitterness.

Tall can from Craft Haven at home on Father’s Day. Translucent/opaque ruddy copper brown orange pour. Why are a lot of English IPAs like this? Aroma is resinous and has the apple juice mustiness of a not that fresh beer (no can date). The resin has a nice zinginess to it though. Taste is bitter, resin and pine and some citrus, but all a bit muddled together in a general bitter bite. Biscuit and crackers. Heavy malt. Finish has a crisp bite. Finish quite bitter and biscuity. Palate is a bit frothy in a nice way. Decent, probably better when fresher, but a little weighed down by heavy malt and mustiness.

440ml can bought as part of a delivery from Hops & Dots and drunk at home. Dark copper gold and clear with a thin film of off-white head. Light aroma, some sharp tangerine rind, spruce, bready malt notes. Sweet taste, lots of big malt and hop, with an ever-encroaching bitterness in the taste. An old-fanshioned DIPA, the kind I like.

440ml can. Gluten Free. Orange amber colour, off white foam head and aroma of orange marmalade, resiny hop. Taste is malt, caramel, orangey, marmalade, citrus, pine and hoppy resiny bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry bitter finish. Very drinkable

Can. Beer Central Sheffield. Dark gold verges on amber. Nicely thick, sticky, leggy off white foam. Nose has sticky old English marmalade on well buttered granary toast. Punchy resin. Charred grapefruit. Super sweet sticky malt. Taste is pretty sweet, with a big hit of resin bitterness. Mouthfeel is a little full on. Fine carbonation. Big sticky resin bitterness to finish. Overall it’s good gear.
