Dark roast malts floral toffee on the nose. Smooth creamy mouthfeel with a hint of toffee and chocolate dangerously drinkable for a Black IPA.

Tap at Sommar, Waterloo St, Birmingham. This one was very nice with chocolate, brown sugar, liquorice, and hoppy bitterness in the finish. It was just a touch too sweet and treacle like which is the only thing stopping me giving it a 4+ but still a very good moreish beer.

Top notch beed. Flirts more with this stout side of things. More creamy lacrose-like body. But still good firm bitterness, not aroma. Super ly balanced between all these things. Gollem amstelstraat

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM I think. Pours black-brown with a creamy tan head. Medium to big sweet flavour with notes of burnt pine, chocolate, roast, raisins, grape, melon, orange rind. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, some resin, brown sugar, gooey pine, chocolate, dark fruits. Solid, big CDA gear.

Draft at the Craft Inn, Shirley. Poured a hazy, almost black colour with a mostly lasting frothy off white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is roasty malt, burnt treacle. The flavour is moderate sweet and bitter, with a smooth, rich, creamy, treacle toffee, light alcohol bitter palate and an oily mouthfeel. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation.
