Rullquin is obtained by blending 7/8 of Rulles Brune and 1/8 of a blend of 1 year old lambics, refermented and matured in oak barrels for 8 months.
This time we have fermented blackcurrant berries in Rullquin for 4 months. The final concentration is 160gr per litre. The beer matured for 9 months in the bottle.
The result is a very drinkable beer with some roasted malt notes and a strong fruity aroma.

Sample at Jane doe..I understand this is a Blended beer but it didn't really work for me. Lambic and ouid bruin - two styles I'm not sure should be mixed. The result was a fruity sour that didn't hit either style's strengths. Murky.

2020-21 bottle. Pours deep mahogany into a tulip. Tan micro head with good retention recedes leaving trailing sheets. Black currant and berry aromas. Sharp with aspirin, tart funk, black currant and chocolate-covered cherry front to back. Lasting funky black currant finish.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle dated March 16, 2021. Aroma is balanced with a moderate note of cassis and notes of toasted bread, crackers, caramel, and hints of chocolate. Light alcohol and faint oak notes. Hints of herbal, earthy must and raisins. Pours brown with burnt red, purplish hues on the edges and a medium large, thick, pillowy, purplish tan head that recedes slowly to a medium small film that lingers. Moderate lacing and faint legs. Flavor has a light sweetness and balanced, light acidity. Medium malt notes of toasted bread and caramel with lighter notes of crackers. Medium low bitterness and light alcohol notes. Moderately strong cassis notes. Hints of oak and medium light earthy, herbal funk. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a surprisingly solid beer. I think I had the original Rullquin and wasn't a fan, but this is working well. Balanced fruit, brown ale and funky lambic notes.

Roast and lots of blackberry. Like slightly unripe blackberry. I've never had an actual blackcurrant, just the juice. Dark brown pour with decent head. Super tart finish. Soft carbonation. Tap at Cloudwater London.

750mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany brown with a small beige head. Nose brings out lots of roasted malt, very tart berries, barnyard funk and earth. Flavour is integrated well, with lots of barnyard funk, medium roasted malt, tart berries, and some leather. Bone dry, with not much trace of the cassis. Roasty, earthy, funky finish. Nice blend. Great stuff.

Fruit packed dark sour with chocolatey brown ale notes to mellow out the acidity. Nice fun!
