In 1810, the Oktoberfest tradition was born when Munich celebrated the Crown Prince’s wedding with a special beer and 16 day party. Our version of this classic style blends rich malts for a hearty, smooth flavor with notes of caramel creating a brew that’s perfect for the season, or whatever you’re celebrating.

Bottle from systembolaget. Seemed a pretty decent beer to me, funny how it takes Sameul Adams to make a better Octoberfest beer than most German ones on the market. Need to reverify this. Re-rated. Some tofee, lots of malt, some caramel. Re-confirmed at 3.1.

Pours rather clear, dark warm copper amber. Small white head. Smell is mildly crisp, bit caramel, malty sweetness. Taste is full on malty, bit doughy , caramel, bit buttery ( or is that just the lines in this pub ? ) should re-rate for that matter. As it is now, its a very soft ( trough the buttery aspect ) ,caramel focused malty amber lager.

12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, best before 1/2017. Pours crystal clear deep orange/light copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big honey, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/toffee, herbal, grass, light pepper, and toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big honey, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/toffee, herbal, grass, light pepper, and toasted earthiness. Light herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of honey, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/toffee, herbal, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Very clean on lager flavors, with zero yeast notes present. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/grainy, and lightly slick/silky/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.3%. Overall this is an excellent Oktoberfest! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, clean, and easy to drink. Very rich and robust on malt flavors, without being too sweet. A very enjoyable offering.

Amber golden colour, white head. Aroma of caramel, sweet malts. Sweet malty flavour, caramel, malts. Dito finish. Bit too sweet for me, but the missus likes it.
