In 1810, the Oktoberfest tradition was born when Munich celebrated the Crown Prince’s wedding with a special beer and 16 day party. Our version of this classic style blends rich malts for a hearty, smooth flavor with notes of caramel creating a brew that’s perfect for the season, or whatever you’re celebrating.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a dark amber colored body with a white head that fizzles out extremely quick with no lacing.
The smell was malts, grains, and bread, but gives the essence of fall.
The taste had some caramel, malts, and a decently low hop balance finishes really crisp and clean.
The palate was about light/medium bodied with moderate carbonation smooth and refreshing.
Overall, this is good for what it is.

Bottle. A- Caramal, toasty, bready, spices. A- Copper color, clear liquid, white head. T- Slightly malty and bitter, toffee and caramel tones with some spice. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, spiced finish. O- Not a staple octoberfest beer. Sam Adams just hasn’t matched what Octoberfest beers from Europe can do yet.

From Sep 2006

Poured from 12oz bottle a clear dark amber with a medium sized head of foam that dissipated fairly slowly leaving a fine layer with lacing.

The smell was pretty delicate but I did note some malt sweetness.

The taste has notes of caramel maltiness, some grain and there's a hoppy bitterness near and through the finish. Not a bad brew at all and worth trying for sure.

35,5 cl bottle (5.5%) @ home, BBE 08/2013
Aroma has toffee, berries and some woody notes. Flavour is malty with berries, woody notes, toffee, hints of caramel and distant toasted notes. Too much berries and toffee here, still has some German character.
