In 1810, the Oktoberfest tradition was born when Munich celebrated the Crown Prince’s wedding with a special beer and 16 day party. Our version of this classic style blends rich malts for a hearty, smooth flavor with notes of caramel creating a brew that’s perfect for the season, or whatever you’re celebrating.

On tap. A clear one, amber in color and with a minimal sized off-white head. The aroma is rather bready, with caramel and some notes of dried fruits. Quite malty flavor too, bread, caramel and some prunes, a little bitterness lurking in the back. Medium body, quite dry on the palate, too carbonated I think. Mostly bread in the finish. Not my favorite interpretation of an Oktoberfest beer this one, it’s way too one dimensional. 130830

Copper Color, Good Head, Some Lacing. Slightly Sweet, Caramel, Lightly Toasted malts, light bitter. Not exactly a Marzen. Also, like the rest of Sam Adams beers, it suffers from wish to appeal to the wide masses. Rather than being all it can be, it is bland and toned down mellow. Drinkable. Enven if you pass it, you not missing much...

355ml bottle [5.5%abv]. Clear amber colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Caramel malty aroma. Taste is minimally sweet caramel malty with a nuttily touch, dry to bitter hoppy overtones. Nicely balanced but slightly too sober and monotonous.

(bottle, 35.5cl, 5.5% abv) Slightly hazy, deep amber colour with a medium-sized and slightly off-white foamy head. Bready and delicately nutty cara-malty aroma. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, rather light bodied with a modest carbonation. Solid bready malt-character with notes of caramel/toffee, accompanied by a whiff of herbal hops; sweet and mildly bitter malt-accented finish with little hops dosage. Likeable but unexciting. 03.III.13
