A great creation well celebrated in the BD 6th anniversary. Nose is slightly boozy with classic chocolate and coffee elements. The tastes are rich and thick, featuring moderate elements of Chocolate and coffee, dark rich berries, licorice, tar and cherries. It is a complex and luscious beer, has juicy freshness, but it finishes clean and balanced. A special beer.

375ml @ Ryan's.
Aroma: coffee with green peppers, some coconut.
Taste: along the same lines, flat, moderately sweet, earthy.
Overall: held up pretty good after 15 years 😁

Poured from 375mL bottle (bottled 01/11/10; bottle 2196/3300; from the fiulijnator cellar). Very dark brown with no head. Roast, coffee, chocolate, soy sauce, very feint chilli. Okay, wish it was fresh.

Bottled (thanks cgarvieuk!). Black colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is liquorice, alcohol, some resin, mild toasted tones as well as some leathery elements. Flavour has pretty much the same elements as the aroma, but a much bigger burn to it, so the chili works it with the alcohol of the beer. Quite syrupy.

Corked bottle. Almost bleack, no head. Malt, molasses, hints of soya and pepper in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with moleaases and hints of red pepper. No carbon to speak of. Maple syrup. Decent.

Shared bottle before Craft Beer Helsinki 2019. Oh6gdx trade with cgarvieuk. Poured pitch black in color. Not much head. Heavy sweet licorice and ryebread aroma. saaristolimppu. Sweet, syrupy and dark bready all over. Heavy, sticky.

375ml bottle, shared at Brewdog Camden. Pours jet black, no head. Aroma: dark chocolate, cherry, dried fruits, fruit cake. Taste: moderate to heavy sweet, big rich dark chocolate, vinous, ripe dark fruits, plums, nuts, light coffee, hint of chilli. Thick bodied, almost zero carb, sweet smooth finish. It's aged pretty well, chilli fading and slightly oxidised but it's still a very fine stout.
