Poured from a 375 ml bottle. Aroma is rich with lots of chocolate and some light roast. Light alcohol spice and medium light bourbon notes. Light oak as well with hints of almond, coconut and vanilla. Pours black with a medium small, thick, mocha head that recedes quickly to the edges where it lingers. Faint lacing and moderate length legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with quite a bit of chocolate and some light roast notes. Good barrel character with some light coconut, vanilla and almond. Medium light bourbon notes with hints of alcohol spice. Medium low bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and low to medium low warmth. Overall, a really nice stout. Great barrel character with nice malt notes.

Draft pour at the Fremont Release last month. As I said before, first bottle losers are first draft winners. For me, waiting in like a country mile for a bottle, or waiting 10 minutes with free coffee and Top Pot doughnuts for the drafts was a pretty easy decision anyway. Midnight pour with a quick fade head. Served WAY too cold on draft here in my opinion. This beer really gained momentum after sitting in the Urban Garden for a short while and warmed up. Rich bourbon aroma with a subtle chocolate underside. Flavor is a very genuine bourbon with a boozy bite. Slightly thinner than expected. Doughy malt and a bourbon slap in the face to finish it off. Very fun try despite this not meeting my high expectations. The uglier twin if I must say.
