22 oz bottle. From the Brew Pub, 20102 vintage. Nose is a really pleasant crisp apple and ginger root. Very low carbonation with no head. As this mead warms up, it really is exactly as the bottle description. Apple cider upfront and the cider maks up the body. The honey is very subdued yet can be found Mid-sip. Ginger root rounds out the flavors in the finish.

Bomber shared at Southampton. Murky, honey pour. Quarter inch of white head. Looks like farmhouse cider. Smell is strong with ginger & rubbing alcohol. Cider & floral notes in the backdrop. Taste is crazy potent, tangy ginger cider. Doughy malt. Sharp sweetness. Hard alcohol. Lemon. Yeasty finish. Decent carbonation, but very itchy/starchy. Real flavors save it from a very bare bottom rate, but just way too much of everything. This is Cave Creek Chili, Dixie White Moose level dare stuff.

22oz bottle-pours a white bubbly head and hazy amber color. Aroma is peach, nectarine, persimmon, papaya, spice, perfumy, sweet light/medium malt. Taste is tart/sour lemon and herbal-ginger, jump out front, then honey, fruit-grape/apple. Interesting. Occasional.

My first real Mead rating - aged 1 year -- so lets take it from there...Pours honey amber into a Snifter. Bright white head skims rim. Honey, clover, cinnamon and alcohol aromas. First sip is dry and crisp apple soaked honey with a lasting sour finish. Second sip is crisp apple-soaked honey and full sour honey. Thought meads were supposed to be sweeter and less cider-like, but enjoyed this concoction nonetheless.

Bomber from Julios - hazy strawberry blonde with lots of fizz, but very little head - very sweet, honey, mead-like aroma (I say mead-like because I don’t really think this is a mead), with notes of rose and grain - the carbonation is abrasive at first, but mellows out once the beer has been sitting - quite tart and acidic up front, with a dry, cider-like character - this is followed by some grain/wheat and sweet honey flavors - a bit more grain and an alcohol burn at the finsh, along with some wine grapes and a lighty, malt-like flavor - this stuff doesn’t know if it wants to be a mead, a cider, or a beer - as a result, the palate doesn’t know what to do with it, either.
