12oz bottle pours clear copper with light tan head. The meek aroma is sugary malts, maybe some 20L like crystal malts and little else. The taste is under whelming with floral hops, a touch of roasted malts and a faint mix of sweet malts and biscuit malts. This doesn’t come together for me as the various flavor notes seem to be at odds with one another.

Tap @ Shorty’s, NYC. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are caramel, notes of fruits, malt and hops.

Pours amber with a creamy/frothy off-white head. Aroma of light pitted fruit and mild caramel. Med body. Roasty malt - perhaps a bit roastier than most ambers. There’s a little bit of fruit and/or citrus hop to balance. Sort of the usual amber, except perhaps a little bit more bitter.

12 oz bottle purchased as part of an Abita sampler at World Market. Pour is slight hazed orange copper with a large, frothy 4 inch off white head. Aroma is mildly malty, along with a vegetal green pepper aroma. Dull, trending towards off nose. Taste is the nose, though much more focused on the straight forward cereal grain malt. The green pepper vegetal is present towards the back, and dominates the longish finish. Palate is thin to medium bodied, yet still manages to be a touch watery. The carbonation is a bit under what I would expect, and the aforementioned aftertaste detracts.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a medium white head that diminishes quickly. Sticky lacing on the glass. The aroma is a good balance of malt and hops with slight caramel. The taste is a light hop with a bitter finish. A decent amber from Abita.

Taster from bottle, at the Balmoral Brewhaha. Nice amber taste with a good fresh hop head that usually isn’t fouind in a bottled beer -- not close to the new mown grass of a 3Floyd’s, but still fresh, a bit piney and balanced with the caramel malts. Had a tiny black taster cup, that’s about all I can say.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Now simply known as "Abita Red Ale". Pours a beautiful, clear amber with a creamy, off-white head. Malty, caramelish aroma. Medium body with lots of caramel and some fresh, nutty accents. The good quality aroma hops leave some fruit but only a discreet bitterness. Lovely. 310306
