Bottle at home shared with Laura. 2015 bottle. Brown color, reddish glare, virtually no head. Aroma and flavor are malts, boozy, liquor, raisins, whisky, wood, fruity notes surprisingly. Heavy but definitely interesting. Slow sipper, but very enjoyable. 6-7,5-7,5-8-7

Bottle shared in Hazlemere - picked up in California during RB Best. Pours clear copper-brown with a modest, off-white foam head. Medium to big sweet flavour, hearty and malty, ripening dark fruits, plum, cherry, figs, dates, very mild oxidation, toast, brown sugar, toffee. Full bodied, lightly oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, further rich toasted malts, brown sugar, dark fruits. Nice depth. Delicious.

2014 bottle. Pours a clear deep amber with a brown hue and no head whatsoever. Aroma has sweet grains and brown sugar with a bit of toffee and a whiskey bite underlying. Flavor has a bit more of a whiskey burn with sweet grains, brown sugar, toffee and a hint of caramel backing.

Sample during the It's Beignet while, so Parrish the Thought of Deserting Oil of Us for this Road Trip Tasting on 06/26/2021. 2015 bottle. Pours a dark copper-brown color with a medium thin light tan head that recedes steadily to a film. Small patches of lace. Aroma of roast malt, oak, chocolate and fruit. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, ripe fruit, roasted malt and cocoa. The finish is oaky with a dark fruit and malt aftertaste. Good beer overall.

(Bottle) Hazy brown colour with brief, foamy, beige head. Malty, vinous nose with notes of caramel, nuts, brown bread, raisins, prunes, brown sugar and whisky. Malty, vinous taste with caramel, dried fruit, raisins, prunes, brown sugar, spices (nuteg, cinnamon, clove), chocolate, wood, whiskey and a vinous, warming finish with a balanced spicy bitterness. Full body, quite sweet. Not shy, but really tasty and quite powerful. The barrel ageing has added some interesting flavours, but not taken over. Great beer!
