Built from the backbone of Stone's classic Imperial Russian Stout, Stone Totalitarian Imperial Russian Stout certainly celebrates the hallmarks of the style - it pours jet-black with a fluffy chocolate head and tastes of deeply dark fruit flavors with rich chocolate and coffee overtones. Yet, however old world in nature, this particular rendition of an IRS is flavored with new world hops, intensifying its berry flavors and aroma while subtly introducing a juicy melon undertone. The result is a spectacularly sinful delight. Don't say we didn't warn you, comrade.

In 2017, we took a year off from releasing this amazing beer, causing some to worry that this was the end of an era. But in 2018, this deep, dark stout returns as big as ever and with a few upgrades. We added flaked oats for a smooth mouth feel and Belma hops, which round out the dark fruit component, providing an ever so slight hop edge.

On tap at Craft Room, Zagreb. Black with brownish head. Cocoa, chocolate, roasted, light sweetness, nice roasty bitter finish. Smooth. Medium bodied.

Draft. A- Chocolate, coffee cake, raisin, glazed donuts. A- Black color, black liquid, tan head. T- Chocolate, chicory, mild soy, cinnamon. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Wow. Had no idea this would be so good. Like a middle of the road between their regular Imperial Stout and the adjunct complex Xocoveza. Hope to be able to see this more often in bottles. Lots of nice complex notes that blend well enough you really have to think to pull out all the individual flavors. Lovely.

Bottled 355ml. -from Pivoteka Zagreb. Pitch black coloured, medium sized brown head, light roast and chocolate in the nose. Roasted malt, chocolate, light coffee and discreet vanilla with noticable alcohol. Bitter roasty finish. Well done.

Bottle picked up from Hereford Beer House, Friday 1st March at Pickets Lock Campsite, Edmonton warming up a Fish Pie with a Mushy Peas and listening to Iggy Confidential on 6 Music. Pours black with a beige head. Wow this is good, coffee, lots of cappuccino and even a little light caramel. Thick in the mouth, smooth and indulgent. Creamy, yes keep coming back to the coffee, wow this is such a fabulous beer.

On tap at Taste of Tops. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of dark malt, chocolate, coffee, some fruit and hints of ash. The same in the taste. The body was almost full and the finish quite long. A pleasant one.
